Timberframe Booth
- Completed: Jun 2011
We recently completed this 8x10 timberframe structure as a display booth for our trade show events. We debuted it this past weekend at the MREA fair in Custer, WI to rave reviews. This frame features relatively light 5x5 red oak posts with three curved arching beams overhead -- one walnut, one cherry, and one white oak. The knee braces are also curved stock and we used hackberry, white oak, red elm and walnut. With out curved beams and braces we like to flatten two sides and plane those surfaces to bring out the rich color and grain of the wood while leaving the curved surface either planed or drawknifed to rertain a more rustic surface. The combination of rustic and exposed wood grain really sets these structures apart. Our goal is to start producing more such structures as garden structures, artist studios, interior meditation spaces, etc. Please contact us for more information.
